AK All-Day Concrete Wall Tile
The AK All-Day Wall Tile was one of our earliest explorations into 3D mold-making with concrete. Created in 2005, it was the very first rubber mold we ever produced - a project that taught us valuable lessons about replicating complex shapes and textures in concrete.
The tile design features a raised AK-47 motif, chosen at the time as a bold way to test the process and create something striking for the bathroom of our original Gore Design Company studio in Tempe, Arizona. Each tile was cast 1.5 inches thick and varied slightly in depth, giving the finished wall a dynamic, dimensional surface.
What started as an experiment quickly became a conversation piece. Over the years, we’ve had requests for similar custom tiles from clients ranging from collectors to specialty retailers. More importantly, the project proved that with the right mold, we can transform virtually any three-dimensional object into a repeatable concrete tile design.
The AK All-Day Tile remains a milestone in our story - a playful early project that still resonates with many, and a reminder that sometimes experimentation leads to techniques that shape an entire craft.
