ASU Law School Modern Muskoka Chairs

When ASU Law School wanted outdoor furniture that would stand the test of time, they turned to us and our longtime collaborators at Colwell Shelor Landscape Architects. Together, we crafted a collection of custom concrete and steel pieces - tables, benches, planter cladding, and a set of ten Modern Muskoka Chairs that became instant icons in the space.

Each chair was cast in our bone white concrete, a natural off-white tone drawn from the color of white Portland cement. We used our proprietary crystalline silica-free, high-performance concrete mix, sealed with our durable, non-toxic reactive sealer that contains no VOCs and is designed to thrive in the real world. The bases were powder-coated matte black, giving the chairs a crisp, architectural edge.

Lined up together on the rooftop patio, the ten Muskoka chairs brought to mind a row of Stormtroopers from Star Wars - sleek, uniform, and commanding attention. They’ve become a defining part of the ASU Law School environment, a place for students and faculty to gather, recharge, and enjoy the outdoors.
