The Aztec Sink
Phoenix
2005
The Aztec Sink stands as an early innovation milestone in our work. Created at a time when Mayan and Aztec architecture were fueling our imagination, this piece translated ancient geometry into modern concrete form. Its bold lines and faceted planes gave the basin a striking sculptural quality rarely seen in sinks at the time.
To deepen its character, we finished the sink with a tea-stain process - using concentrated tea to age and weather the surface before sealing. This experimentation with both form and finish was part of what defined our early years and set the stage for future breakthroughs.
Handcrafted in the USA from GFRC concrete, the Aztec Sink remains an important marker in our story. It shows that luxury concrete design isn’t just about utility - it’s about curiosity, risk-taking, and the willingness to let new ideas shape the craft.
