The CALX Cabin Outdoor Dining Table was born out of necessity. At my rammed earth cabin in the Ozark Mountains, I needed a table that could live outdoors year-round - through blazing summers, blizzards, ice storms, and freeze-thaw cycles - without flinching.
The answer was to build it the way we build everything: to last. I cast the tabletop in 1.5-inch-thick crystalline silica-free UHPC concrete, a material strong enough to endure the harshest conditions. For the base, I hand-welded steel and finished it with a vintage teal powder coat, giving the piece both strength and personality.
That table lived at the cabin for years and is now in my backyard in Wichita, Kansas, where it continues to perform flawlessly. I’ve never covered it, even through countless winters of snow and ice, and it still looks sharp. It’s proof that when you design and build with care, concrete furniture can be as timeless and resilient as the landscapes it lives in.
