The Rock Sink
Laguna Beach
2007
The Rock Sink was one of our most complex early commissions, despite its simple appearance. At first glance, it’s a ramp sink directing water to a central drain. But the client asked for something deeply personal: to incorporate a stone from their property into the design.
That stone became a built-in shelf - perfect for holding a vase or orchid, while also concealing the drain from view. It sounded straightforward in the design brief, but the detail proved technically challenging to execute. The result was worth every step: a handcrafted sink that combined natural material, personal meaning, and modern concrete design.
Built in the USA from GFRC concrete, the Rock Sink continues to stand as a reminder that the best projects are born from collaboration and from embedding personal stories into lasting design.
