Tarbell’s Communal Dining Tables
Centennial
2009
The Tarbell’s Communal Dining Tables were designed to be the heart of the restaurant experience. Crafted for Tarbell’s in Centennial, Colorado, these two custom tables brought together the honesty of rough-sawn wood, the strength of blackened steel, and the refinement of handcrafted concrete.
Each table measured 12 feet long, 30 inches wide, and 4 inches thick - one built at bar height (42 inches) and the other at standard dining height (30 inches). With their scale and presence, they were more than just tables; they were gathering points that encouraged conversation, connection, and community.
The contrast of the smooth white concrete tops against the weight and texture of the wood legs gave the space warmth and balance. Anchored by steel supports, the design tied together the restaurant’s atmosphere with materials that feel both natural and enduring.
Like all our work, these tables were built to last for generations, carrying the same spirit of authenticity and durability that defines every Gore Design Co. project.
