The Windemere Dining Table

The Windemere Dining Table was the beginning of a long and meaningful relationship with a client who has commissioned some of my most important work - including the first Erosion Sink, the first fabric-formed sink, my first GFRC piece, and more.
This table came before GFRC was in our toolkit, but it still carried the spirit of innovation. Cast in a charcoal-toned concrete with a beautifully refined edge detail, it was designed to anchor the dining room with both weight and elegance.
The defining feature, though, was a meteorite slice inlay set into the surface. Said to contain amino acids not found on Earth, it gave the piece an otherworldly character - though I joked at the time that I hoped my client didn’t turn into Spider-Man. The inlay became a story within the story: a table that wasn’t just handcrafted from earthly materials, but that also carried a literal piece of the cosmos.
The Windemere Dining Table is a reminder that furniture can transcend function. It can embody history, place, and even the mysteries of the universe - all while being built to last for millennia.
